These are:
THE CAVETT AWARD
The Cavett Award, named for NSA founder Cavett Robert, is presented annually to the professional speaker whose career has earned “outstanding credit, respect, honor and admiration in NSA and the speaking profession.” The most prestigious recognition of the NSA, The Cavett is considered the “Oscar” of professional speaking.
CPAE - COUNCIL OF PEERS AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE
The CPAE is awarded to a select few after peer review by a seven-member panel of judges. The judges consider originality of material, uniqueness of style, experience, delivery technique, image and reputation, professionalism and ability to relate to their audiences. Hundreds apply; no more than five CPAE designations are awarded each year.
In 1998, the CPAE Speaker Hall of Fame was established and Jim was made a charter member.
CSP - CERTIFIED SPEAKING PROFESSIONALS
NSA members who complete a stringent list of requirements, starting with subscribing to the NSA Code of Ethics, earn the CSP designation. It recognizes those professionals who have demonstrated commitment and proven excellence. The NSA requires continuing education and application for renewal for CSP every five years.
In 2007, Jim was awarded Philanthropist of the Year. The Nido Qubein award was presented for Jim's efforts and contributions to the National Speakers Association Foundation of which he is a founding member. Jim signed the Charter to create the Foundation.
Jim's background and credentials rank him in the top 1% of professional speakers working today.
